Recycling in Lake Jackson

Lake Jackson has a long commitment to environmental stewardship. Residents and businesses both enjoy amenities that help make the community healthier, safer and cleaner.

Keep Lake Jackson Beautiful was established as a city commission dedicated to advising and creating campaigns that promote these resources.

Curbside Residential Recycling Service

Residential recyclables are picked up curbside once weekly and always on the same day as your second day of household garbage pick-up. Place recyclables at the curb for collection no later than 8 a.m. the morning of your scheduled pick-up day only.

Use blue or clear bags for your co-mingled recyclables only. You can purchase 13-gallon blue bags at City Hall for $9.50 (roll of 50) or use any other blue bags you find. Do not use blue bags for household garbage.

Acceptable Items

Recyclables include

  • all plastics
  • aluminum
  • tin cans
  • paper
  • cardboard

Please do the following:

  • All containers should be rinsed and emptied.
  • Place newspapers and junk mail in a separate paper, blue, or clear plastic grocery bag.
  • Keep recycling separate from household garbage when placing at curb for pick-up.

Cooking Oil & Grease Recycling

City of Lake Jackson residents may now drop off cooking oil and grease at the Convenience Center at 103 Canna Lane. A special container will be available to accommodate these oils.
